  • Show me your papers!!!

Most of us have seen the movie scenes where people are stopped at government roadblocks and they are told to produce whatever documents they need to prove they have are legit. It is a scene that conjures up visions of a totalitarian police state. This is not usually something we associate with life in the United States.

Times, they are changing! In the DC area, police have decided to use “check points” to limit access to certain areas where violent crime has been very high recently. The news article can be seen here:

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080608/ap_on_re_us/neighborhood_checkpoint .

At these check points, police examine drivers license or other ID and inquire the purpose of a person's entry into the area. If the police don't feel the person is entering for a “legitimate reason", they are turned away. Simply driving through to visit doesn't seem to be a legitimate reason!

Though this may seem to be an isolated “one time” thing, it can set a dangerous precedent. Should this type of action go unchallenged, other police departments and even the federal government could easily decide that the public will accept even more restrictive measure in the name of “safety”. I can only hope that most of the people who get turned away during this action come together in a class action suit against the DC police. Perhaps if the consequence of stomping on our freedom of movement is drastic enough, they will think more than twice before they try it again.

  • Government waste in the name of fear

Our politicians just love to tell you how well they are protecting you from the criminals and terrorists that are waiting just outside your door. Yes, these villians are keeping watch on YOU and your CHILDREN 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and if it weren't for the benevolent politicians they would victimize your every single time you stepped out of your house. At least that is what they want you to think and feel. After all, all the new legislation wouldn't be of any political advantage otherwise.

Yep, every year, they pass new laws to augment the old laws. They make things even tougher on people who have been convicted of some horrible crime. They close "loop holes" to ensure that anyone planning a crime won't go un-punished. They do all sorts of tings to help "keep you safe".

Of course the plain truth of things is that tese new and improved laws do little more than add more expenses to your already heavy tax burden. Much of the legislation is nothing more than redundant actions that do nothing at all to improve your safety. Nope, not one little bit of added protection but millions in added expense!

H.R. 4472 is the Adam Walsh Child Protection Act of 2006. It "boosts" the level of tracking for convicted sex offenders and that isn't a bad thing in itself. However, it also makes added registration verification requirements that absolutely will never help things at all. This bill requires that states change what most have done yearly to a semianual requirement. Again, on the face of things, not a bad idea. What is a bad, in fact stupid, requirement of this bill is that registered sex offenders have to submit finger prints and DNA samples EVERY SIX MONTHS.

Why is that so stupid? Well, how often does DNA change? NEVER!!!!!! Every DNA sample must go through the standard DNA testing proceedure no matter what. That means that the DNA, than NEVER changes, must be tested every six months for as long as the sex offender is alive! And how about finger prints? Do those change? They can change due to scars on the fingers and palms but it is very rare that the entire set of prints would be changed. Again, now those prints must be taken and filed ever six month for the life of a registered sex offender.

That is just one of many many examples of what your politician will raise on his or her re-election banner. It is only designed as a method of showing you just how tough on crime they are. There is no actual benefit to the general public at all.

Don't get me wrong here! The registration requirement for sex offenders is a certain deterent for some and can be a great aid to law enforcement in finding out who perpretrated a crime AFTER THE FACT. I do not advocate ending the sex offender registration at all, just that we see things as they are. You know, other things like the USA PATRIOT ACT that allows the feds to tap YOUR phone or read YOUR emails without a legitimate court warrant.

It is well past time for the general public to wake up and smell the fecal matter congress drops on you every day of every year. The law making process is controlled by a laxative called "fear".

  • FLDS update...Texas supreme court upholds ruling

Today, the Texas supreme court upheld the lower court ruling that the fascist CPS and Texas law enforcement illegally removed the 430 children from that FLDS compound. That is a heavy and more than well deserved blow to the fascist CPS organization. More needs to be done!

Now that it has been very well established that the fascist CPS organization knowingly over-stepped their legal bounds, federal kidnapping charges should be filed against every single individual responsible for ordering the removal of those children. Here is why:

    1. The original call was bogus. Every attempt to verify the truth of that call came up blank but it was used as justification to stage a militaristic raid on the FLDS compound.

    2. The fascist CPS workers perpetrated a lie to the public by stating that they had several underage girls who were pregnant. This was later found to be completely false! One of the "underage" girls turned out to be 27 years of age! Not one of the other pregnant women were underage!

    3. The Texas law clearly states that there must be a real effort to keep children with their families. No such effort was even attempted.

    4. When the Third Court of Appeals ruled that the fascist CPS must return the children to their families, the CPS refused to do so! Instead, they pushed to the Texas supreme court hoping to find a panel of other fascists who would assist them in breaking the law.

The Texas supreme court ruled that the children must be returned to their families immediately. The response from the fascist CPS is that they will comply "as soon as they can". In my mind it should take no longer for the children to be returned than it took to kidnap them in the first place. That means that if the children are not back with their parents by 8AM central time, the FLDS has EVERY right to take back their children using every means needed...including armed force! Parents have the right to protect their children from harm and the fascist CPS is actively harming every single child they kidnapped from that compound. Yes, in the case of a parent protecting his or her child I do advocate violence!

Why do I call the CPS a fascist organization? Because they want to dictate to every parent in the United States exactly how a child should be raised! They want to remove all religious teaching from the household. They want to make it impossible for a parent to discipline their child. They want absolute power over every parent and every household. Is that what you want? Do you want the fascist CPS to take your children from you because of your own beliefs?

  • My OTHER blog

Here on xanga, I can rant and rave to my heart's content but I do have other activities. Since I get every other week off from work, I spend some of that time exploring the vast outdoor spaces of Nevada with an occasional trip into California. Once I return from those trips, I put a description of the area I visited and some of the photos I aquired onto my outdoor blog at http:www.afreshpath.com for all to enjoy!

I do have a couple of subscribers to that blog and get a few hundred visitors a week. I encourage you all to visit and enjoy things from an old redneck's perspective.

  • Raid on Texas FLDS ruled illegal!!

It seems that the Texas CPS is being put in it's place...almost. The Third Court of Appeals has rule that the seizure of 400 children from the FLDS compound in Texas was unwarranted and illegal. The almost total lack of evidence is the prime factor in this ruling. A full news story about it is here: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080522/ap_on_re_us/polygamist_retreat

I literally jumped for joy when I saw the headline and read the story. For once, the almighty CPS is facing justice as it's meant to be. Perhaps this is the start of a major shift. One can only hope. My personal view is that every single person involved in forcing the confiscation, kidnapping, of those 400 children should face a few years in federal prison. The charge is kidnapping plain and simple. Perhaps terrorist activity should be tacked on since they used their presummed power to kidnap those children to instill fear of the CPS organization upon the general public.

The illegal CPS organization is just one of many who work toward the goal of regualting every single aspect of YOUR private life. There are many others that foist fear upon you to win your support for even greater control over your life. It's time to stand against that fear mongering.
